Research shows clearly that women select differently for short- and long-term mating. Alphas rule for ST, but for LT, or marriage, women want many of the traits normally associated with betas, such as ability to collaborate and cooperate, reliability, dependability, willingness to demonstrate love and affection, etc. It is my contention that a natural alpha cannot really add these qualities in very successfully, so most relationships with them are lacking in emotional intimacy.
However, a guy who is a natural beta has that piece already in place, and by adding dominant alpha behaviors, can evolve into what women consider an ideal partner. In order to get there, though, a man must experience first-hand the role of alpha. Riv is doing that, yet I’m sure I’m not the only one here who can see the empathic, good man he is even as he enjoys his no-strings arrangement.
This, by the way, is why I am a big fan of Yohami’s approach. Yohami is a very dominant guy with a beta heart. That’s the path to sexual enlightenment, IMO.
